The End of an Era

May 10th, 2007

Sara For those that are not aware, the cabin SARA had an early demise late in December.  Due to delays because of Insurance, Code compliance, Planning and Building Department and weather, just yesterday we finally got her torn down.  It was a sad day but hopefully happier days will come out of it.  The current plan is to build at least one small cabin on the site that is remained.  Hopefully this will happen before the end of the summer season.  Just depends on availability of labor and monetary costs.

And no… once construction starts, Fern Creek will not be on the market for a while.  So for all of you wishing I would stay, you have your wish for a while.

Welcome Fishermen!

After a long bleak winter, it was wonderful to finally see Opening Day in the Sierras.   It was a warm weekend, so lots of beer was consumed.  Fishing was slow but mainly because the water was warmer so the fish were down deep.

In the annual opening weekend pool at Fern Creek Lodge the big fish belonged to David Cella.  It was a 4 lb rainbow caught out of Gull Lake.  David (16) has been visiting with his dad the past few years.  In addition to the money pool, David took home a new Fenwick rod with a Mitchell reel.
